This job advert is client specific. We are looking for a Personal Assistant to work with a client in Ashford. Details are: You will be supporting a male who suffers with a C5 spinal injury with live-in care for a schedule of 2 weeks on and 3 weeks off. You must like dogs and be willing to support with looking after them (walking and feeding). You will be required to support with showering, dressing and transferring from chair. You will be required to support with colostomy and supra-pubic catheter care. You will be required to support with meal preparation, light housework, medication support and regular stock checking. You will be required to attend work and appointments with the client. This client lives with his wife, and it is important to them both that they are able to live as a married couple, and have their privacy respected. You will have your own separate annex for accommodation. The ideal candidate will be able to: You will be able to work on your own initiative. You will be hardworking and professional and prepared to support in the running of the client's family home. You will have good English, excellent communication and effective engagement skills. You will have good time and job management, always working to a high standard, quick thinking and have the ability to multi-task. You will be patient, sensitive and understanding. A Basic Care Certificate – don’t worry if you don’t have one already, we can help you gain this qualification through our external e-learning partner. A valid clean enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check in England & Wales or PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups membership) in Scotland (we can help you get one if you don’t have one). A minimum of 6 months professional experience working in adult or elderly care. Ability to provide a minimum of 5 years references, including at least 2 professional references that Accolade Home Care can verify. Good level of spoken and written English and the right to work in the UK. Ability to attend a 20–30 minute virtual interview, so that we can get to know you better. The ability to manage your own work schedule.
